Are we skipping rocks across the pond to watch them jump or are we getting rid of the rock?

You pray for vengeance
But vengeance is like a candle
A flickering flame, seemingly containable
But what control do we really have?
It dances to its own beat
One tiny misstep and your whole world is on fire
You still light the flame though
You still tend to the fire and hope it doesn’t turn against you
Maybe that’s really just what you want though
A secret forbidden desire
A cataclysmic cost that changes everything
You seek it like a thrill
Dreading your everyday life and instead finding all glory and joy in that blaze
What a crystal vision
And crystal it is, so fragile if it breaks
And the world comes crumbling behind it
You still give in though
Why shouldn’t you?
Everyone has a vice.
Everyone feels that peculiar stamping in the back of their mind
Calling out now, isn’t it?
It’s so swift and divine or so it says to be.
You don’t really know it or understand it at all.
Sweet and pure, so tasteful, so luxurious
Your appetite is aroused
And nothing can tame that craving but the taste of the passion itself
Go ahead, take a bite, I won't tell.
Figures, huh?
What right do I have to tell your secret?
I’ve got it too
That craving, that urge
So dark and venomous, so alluring
I wave around my white flag and shout for peace and love
But on the inside, oh what a sick, twisted animal
Rocking back and forth steadily in my cage
Closed in for far too long and far too hungry to control my urges anymore
Let me out, please!
Let me out!
Don’t deny that vision
Don't think about what you’ll lose
Consequences are invalid.
Listen to me, the pleasure will be so great you won't care what comes next.
Honestly, you never did
That's why you’re so sick and weak all the time
You need me!
I’ll make you stronger. I’ll heal you.
Open up and together we’re unstoppable.
We dive deep into the satisfactory glands of pleasure
It will be monumental
And people will wonder and gape in horror and shock
In horror and curiosity...
See now we’ve drawn them in because of what we’ve done
Because you and I were strong enough to release the beast and give in
Now they want to know too
Sure on the outside they are sickened at the sight
“How could you”, they’ll exclaim
But please, look at them really
They’re salivating
They wish they had taken the leap
They want the experience
They can’t believe someone finally did what was on their dirty mind all along
Oh but they’ll judge anyway
And wag their plump finger at you
Its all for the public, of course
Shame!
But don’t you regret it
Sure the moments over and that sweet delicious rush ended with grief
But come on, look what we did
Look what we started
We sparked something, you know
It's contagious
I’ll bet they’re going to be dancing around that cage this time tomorrow
Drawn closer and closer with every twirl
They’re just ripping themselves apart within to open it.
And when they do, you're going to feel it too
Back in your cage all alone you’re going to hear a distant door swing open
And a wild beast ram its body through the frame and bust out into the world
Maybe no one will notice
But those beasts usually get caught
And you’ll smile and recall the feeling when you first broke free
So nasty and sinister they all said
But come on, they never say that when they break free.
Everyone has a vice.
And we all have the key to the cage.
What are you going to do with it?
